Frequently Asked Questions

  • You look like a standard white, cisgender female therapist. Can I trust you to be inclusive?

Yes I am those things, and I understand that trust and safety are earned, not a given. My commitment to antiracism and LGBTQIA+ inclusivity includes a lifelong learning of my privilege as well as how systems of racism and oppression have impacted the wellbeing of marginalized individuals/groups/systems. Furthermore, your own unique experience in this world is welcomed, accepted and honored in my practice.

  • Do you do virtual sessions?

At this time, I provide telehealth as well as in-person sessions at my office in Solana Beach.

  •  Do you accept insurance?

At this time, I accept United Healthcare and Aetna. If you are out of network, I’m happy to provide super bills for you to submit to your benefit plan for possible reimbursement (please call your insurance company to find out your benefits).

  • What are your rates?

    Individual Session: 50-56 min, $175

    Couples Session: 50-56 min, $190, 75-80 min, $250

    Supervision: 55 min, $100

  • Do you offer a sliding scale?

Reduced fee appointments are available by request and dependent on current availability in my practice.

  • How do I make an appointment? Do you have availability?

Since my availability varies, please reach out to me to find out any current openings. I am always happy to take time to help you find a referral if my practice is full or if I am not a fit for your therapeutic needs.

  • How do appointments work?

  • During the intake process, you will be offered a consistent weekly or biweekly appointment slot reserved just for you (same day/time each week). After initial treatment goals are met, less frequent appointments are an option. Appointments are between 50-55 minutes long. My office hours are between 8am and 2pm Monday-Friday. Unfortunately, my practice cannot accommodate evening/weekend appointments or folks with variable scheduling needs.

  • New client procedure: Upon scheduling an intake appointment, you will receive a link to my client portal and can fill out forms electronically and confidentially.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

When you make an appointment with me, this time is just for you. If you cancel in less than 48 hours from your appointment time, I cannot fill this spot. Cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to your appointment time will be charged my full rate. This is not covered by insurance. Monday appointments must be cancelled by 5pm on the previous Friday.

  • Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
