What To Expect

What To Expect

If you’re considering therapy, you may have questions about what the process looks like. The information below is meant to offer clarity, reassurance, and a sense of how I work.

Your First Session

Your first session is a gentle beginning. A chance to meet, build trust, and start understanding what’s brought you here. You don’t need to prepare or know exactly what to say. Reaching out can feel vulnerable, and we move at a pace that feels steady and safe for you.

Together, we’ll explore your story, what matters most to you, and what you’d like to experience more of in your life.

Ongoing Work

Over time, therapy becomes a place to slow down, reflect, and connect more deeply with yourself and others. Using attachment-informed, experiential, and mind–body approaches, we’ll explore patterns, gently heal old wounds, and practice new ways of relating.

Some sessions may feel emotional and revealing; others quiet and reflective. Each one supports meaningful healing and growth.

Getting Started

I offer a free 15-minute consultation so you can get a sense of the process and determine whether we’re a good fit.

Session Rates

Individual Session: $190
Couples Session: $220

Do You Take Insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly. Many clients choose to pay out of pocket and request a monthly statement (“superbill”) to submit for possible reimbursement.

If you plan to use out-of-network benefits, I recommend contacting your insurance provider in advance to understand your specific coverage.

Office Hours & Scheduling

I work Monday–Thursday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., offering sessions in Solana Beach and online across California and Arizona. Sessions are 50 minutes in length.

For consistency and effectiveness, I reserve the same day and time each week for your session. Frequent rescheduling or changing time slots is not available. Most clients begin with weekly sessions and may shift to biweekly as the work progresses. We’ll determine the rhythm that feels right for you during our consultation.

How Long Will It Take to Feel Better?

The honest answer is: it depends. Everyone’s pace of healing is different. Some people notice relief within a few sessions; others need more time as safety and trust deepen.

My focus is on meaningful, lasting change rather than quick fixes. We’ll regularly check in to ensure therapy remains aligned with your goals.

Have more questions? I’d be happy to connect.

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
